Working with the Mary Rose Trust, located within Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, CCIXR's development team looked to create a digital experience that allowed users to "dive" down and pass through the wreck of the Mary Rose on the seabed of the Solent as the original divers would have in 1971. Although I did not work on the initial part of this project, I scanned assets using the Creaform Go!SCAN 3D scanner to capture true to life Tudor artefacts for use within the VR version of this project.

This digital experience was displayed to users in multiple formats, including an interactive display currently on show at the Mary Rose Museum, in which a Magic Leap is used to allow participants to move  through wreck looking up, down, left and right with their hands. The standard video version starts by seeing the wreck of the ship, with artefacts appearing along the way, with the fully constructed ship appearing in place of the wreck at the end of the piece.  There is also a turntable of the ship running on a holofan and the experience is also currently being ported to VR to run on the Quest 2.

These builds are currently installed at The Mary Rose museum in Portsmouth for all to see!

Most recently the Mary Rose Trust won at The News Innovation Awards 2022 with CCIXR for this project and the work done to blend Extended Reality and historical sites of interest.
